VIRGINIA B. NICHOLS, 96 years of age of Canvas, passed away Tuesday October 20,2026 at the Summersville Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Della Brewer Harlow and was born in Nicholas County on April 20,1930. Virginia was a loving wife, mother , grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother who made a special influence on many people’s lives through the years. She was called maw maw by most who knew her. She was a member of the Enon Baptist Church, loved gospel music and going to church.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Melvin “Bud” Nichols, son Christopher Wayne Nichols and brothers Earl Harlow, Bernard and Jimmy Harlow.

Grandsons Robert Bell (Heather), Chris Nichols (Laurie) and Derrick Nichols

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday October 24th at the Waters Funeral Chapel in Summersville with Pastor Justin Phillips and Pastor Earl Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at the Walker Memorial Park in Summersville. Friends may call at the funeral chapel one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
