Obituary

Robert "Robbie" Shawn Key,  40 of Mount Lookout, WV went to heaven on Friday April, 28th, 2023.

Robbie was born December 30, 1982 in Beckley. He was married to Candace for 16 years. They share two children together, daughter Lindsay Key and son Evan Key. He is the son of Robert Key and Ginger Roberts Key of Summersville and survived by his sisters Felicia Key (Perry) of Summerville, Stacey Hamrick (David) of Nettie, and a brother Scott Key, (Sharon) of Greenville, SC. He is a beloved grandson to Fred "High Pockets" Roberts and Charolotte Roberts of Summersville. Also, leaves behind an extended loving family.

Robbie was a loving, patient, dependable, and humble man. His life made an impact on many around him. He was a devoted husband and father. He considered his wife and children his priority as he was their leader and protector.

Robbie was a dedicated and honest worker. He was proud of his career as a lineman and considered it to be an honor. He was a friend to many but also an enthusiastic coach and mentor. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, and all things outdoors. He cherished time spent with his children doing things such as, wrestling, sports, running, and other adventures.

Robbie was strong, steady, and calm yet also energetic and fun-loving. He will be remembered for his infectious smile and bright blue eyes. He was always able to light up our entire world not only by being a proud lineman but in every way, he shared his love around us.

A celebration of life is scheduled at 3 p.m. Tuesday May 9 th at the Summersville Armory. Friends and family may call from  11 a.m. until service time on Tuesday. The family requests any attendants who are willing to please drive their hotrod cars to the service as a way to remember Robbie.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to his wife and children by making checks or money orders payable to Candace Key, at Truist Bank, 815 Northside Drive, Summersville WV 26651, as they would be his priority. Also, the family request that you take time to spread God's love and joy as we believe Robbie would want you to do.
