RITA  BELLE  THOMAS,  81 of Summersville passed away Friday July 7, 2023 in the Stonerise Extended Care Center at Summersville.  She was the daughter of the late Thomas Ray and Mary Selena Keyes Hughes and was born at Gilboa September 16, 1941.  Rita was a former employee of Wal-Mart in Summersville for over twenty years. She was a Christian and attended the Gilboa First Church of God.

She was also preceded in death by one son Edward Eugene Thomas and one grandson Michael Thomas.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday July 13th in the Waters Funeral Chapel at Summersville with Pastor Danny Hagan officiating.  Burial will follow in the Asa Hughes Cemetery at Twenty-Mile. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening.
