Mary Yuvone (Bonnie) Simons, 89, of Summersville,  went home to be with the Lord Saturday December 21, 2024.

Bonnie was born July 28, 1935 , the daughter of  the late Joseph P. and Etta Vitello of Richwood. While in high school, Bonnie met and later married the love of her life, M. Lynn Simons. Lynn and Bonnie recently celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary this past September and were proud parents of five children.

Bonnie joins her parents, Joe & Etta Vitello, her son, M. Lynn Simons, Jr. and her grandson, John Chris Baker II in Heaven.  She is survived by her husband, M. Lynn Simons, Sr., her daughters, Lorrie (John) Baker of Glendale, AZ, Pam Clevenger of Summersville, Kathy (Harry) Areford of Morgantown, and Mary (Jorge) Messuti of Cleveland, OH and daughter-in-law, Cindy Simons of Emmaus, PA; fifteen grandchildren, Nick (Annie) Simons, Philip (Allison) Baker, Stephanie (Todd) Garrett, Carolyn (Anthony) Knowles, Richie (Daisy) Clevenger, Tracy Henry, Winston (Dustynn) McHenry, Martin (Brenda Gray) McHenry, Walter (Brittany) McHenry, Matthew Messuti, Marcus Messuti, Gaby Messuti , Jamie (Lindsay) Herrington, Chris (Megan Scanlon) Herrington, and Allison (Justin) Blackburn; and 25 great-grandchildren. Bonnie is also survived by one brother, Paul Vitello of Richwood.

She was a devoted Catholic and a life-long member of St. John Catholic Church in Summersville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday December 26th in the Waters Funeral Chapel at Summersville with Pastor Gene Campbell officiating.  Interment will follow at the WV Memorial Gardens at Calvin. Friends may call at the funeral chapel one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
