Joseph Ray Browning, 89 years of age of Birch River, passed away Tuesday June 24, 2025 in the Summersville Regional Medical Center.  He was the son of the late Porter Vinton and Rachel Ann Metheny Browning and was born at Morris on June 27, 1935.  Joseph was a Coal Miner and member of the UMWA.  He was also a member of the Air Force and served in the Korean War.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday June 27, 2025 at 2 p.m. in the Walker cemetery at Keeners Ridge with Homer Gibson officiating.  The Waters Funeral Chapel in Summersville is in charge of the arrangements.
