JOHNNY  MACARTHUR  "MACKY"  ACREE,  79 of Summersville went home to be with the Lord Sunday September 24, 2023.  He was the son of the late John Richard and Pearl Mae Thomas Acree and was born at Hookersville November 6, 1943. Johnny was a retired surveyor for Marathon Technical and a U.S. Army veteran.  He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Summersville. Johnny never met a stranger, he was a people person who loved to eat, talk and spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter Destiny Hughes, and one sister Linda Griffin.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday September 27th in the Emmanuel Baptist Church at Summersville with Pastor Butch Collins officiating. Friends may call at the church, one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

His body will be cremated at the conclusion of services.

The Waters Funeral Chapel in Summersville is in charge of the arrangements.
