JOHN POLITAKIS JR., 81 years of age of Canvas, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 17, 2025. John was a beloved husband,father,grandfather and brother. He was born on March 27, 1944, in Mingo County. He was the son of the late John and Wanda Politakis Sr. He was also proceeded in death by one daughter Rene Miller granddaughter Johnna Harvey and sisters Linda Schlager and Pat Elswick.

He was a retired coal miner with 36 years of service, owner of Johns small engine repair and jack of all trades. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with good friend Dave Young. John also enjoyed cooking, birthday celebrations, Grand dogs and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife Linda Trogdon Politakis. His children, Kimberly Harvey (Max), Jennifer Mckinney (Troy), both of Canvas Angel Park (Greg) North Carolina. His siblings Dave Politakis (Mary) South Carolina, Steve Politakis (Kathy) Delaware, George Politakis (Marcia) Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday April 21st in the Waters Funeral Chapel at Summersville with Pastor Mike Simms officiating. Burial will follow in the Walker Memorial Park at Summersville. Friends may call at the funeral chapel one hour prior to the service on Monday.
