Joe E. Underwood passed on February 26, 2022 at home, surrounded by family, after a long illness.

He was born in Vaughan, WV, on July 17th, 1941, son of the late Leonard and Grace Underwood. Survived by wife Estella Underwood of Monrovia, MD. Also survived in death are daughters Vicky Underwood, Cathy Hartley (Jeff) both of Summersville, WV, sister Betty Brown (Eddie) of GA and Jerry Underwood of WV.

Previously departed loved ones include brothers Larry Underwood, Tommy Underwood and sister Phyllis Bounds.

Stepchildren, David Oland of Monrovia, Md, Judy Champagne of Mt. Airy, MD and Teresa Wolcott of Mt. Airy, MD and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday March 26 ^th in the Waters Funeral Chapel at Summersville.  Friends may visit 1 hour prior to the service.
