Herman "Tony"
Mosley
Jan 9, 1935 — Jan 31, 2026
Tony Mosley, 91, of Summersville, West Virginia, formerly of Vineland,
New Jersey, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026. Born on
January 9, 1935, in Cheswold, Delaware he was the son of the late
Joseph Mosley and Martie (Muntz) Mosley. A proud member of the
Nanticoke Tribe, Tony lived his life with deep pride in his Native
American heritage, a trait that shaped his character and the values he
instilled in those around him.
Tony was the definition of a hardworking man. He dedicated his career to
truck driving, spending countless hours behind the wheel of his beloved
"Long Nose Peterbilt." Over the years, he earned not one, but two
million-mile safe driving awards, a testament to his exceptional skill,
focus, and professionalism on the open road. Fellow drivers and friends
alike admired his work ethic, dependability, and genuine love for the
profession that became his life's journey.
To those who knew him, Tony was more than a truck driver—he was a
man of his word, a loyal friend, and a loving father and brother. His
strong work ethic and magnetic personality made him a pillar of strength
in his community and within his family. People naturally gravitated toward
his charisma, and he offered warmth, humor, and wisdom in equal
measure.
Some of Tony's fondest memories came from simpler times camping trips
with his wife, children, and close friends. Those trips represented what
mattered most to him: family, laughter, and the bonds of togetherness.
Whether it was leveling the camper, swapping stories, enjoying his buddy
Babe Cantoni's cooking or sitting back and drinking a cold one or some
ginger brandy, Tony cherished every moment he spent with those he
loved.
Faith became an important compass in Tony's later life. He was a
devoted member of Heavens Saint Worship Center, where his dear
friend, Pastor Herbie Pierce Jr. and Herbie Pierce Sr., guided his
spiritual journey. There, Tony found peace and salvation and was
baptized, an experience that deepened his sense of purpose and
gratitude.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Dorothy Morgan,
Sophia Pierce, Ardella Schnoa, Margaret Sissy Ridgeway, and Betty
Pierce; and his brother, Joseph "Buck" Mosley. He is survived by his sister
Diane Durham; his wife of more than 57 years Yvonne (Luzader) Mosley,
his daughters Vyuka Joslin (Dave), Leslie McCoy (Dale), and Martie
Gillespie (Rodney); his sons Franklin Gene Mosley and Gregory Scott
Mosley. He was lovingly known at Pop (short for Poppop) to his
grandsons David Joslin, Danny Mosley, Mason Gillespie and Seth McCoy;
his granddaughters Christina Mosley , Laura Hensley, Amanda Woods,
Danielle Cifaloglio, Shayla Knight, Gracie and Maddie McCoy. He also
had thirteen great grandchildren. To his children and those who loved him
dearly, Tony leaves behind a legacy of steadfast love, integrity, and
perseverance.
A graveside service will be held in New Jersey, and a celebration of life
is planned for this spring, where family and friends will gather to share
memories, stories, and to honor the remarkable life of Tony Mosley.

The Truckers Final Journey
He's on his last journey now,
On roads that we can't follow,
And as we bid our last farewell,
We know that
he has gone to dwell.
In trucking heaven,
On perfect roads that never end,
His spirit free, his heart so strong,
A trucker's soul forever long.
