HELEN IRENE BARNETT, 94 years of age of Craigsville, passed away Tuesday August 11, 2026 at the Summersville Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Ira L. and Gertrude Elizabeth Spinks Lusher and was born at Richwood January 3, 1932. She was the owner and operator of the Mountaineer Hotel from 1974-2007 and was a Baptist by faith.

She was preceded in death by her Husband Wendell H. Barnett

Son: Anthony “Tony” Barnett (Kathy) Craigsville, WV

Daughter: Pamela Kay Riddle (Charles) Elkins, WV

Grandchildren: Timothy, Phoebe, Sarah and Karen

Great Grandchildren: Maggie, Otto and Everett

In keeping with her wishes, her body was cremated. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday August 22nd in the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church at Craigsville. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St Luke’s Food Bank, P.O. Box 710 Craigsville, WV 26205.

The Waters Funeral Chapel in Summersville was in charge of the arrangements.
