Obituary

David Lynn Boothe, 66, passed away peacefully at his home on June 27, 2026, with his beloved wife and high school sweetheart, Trish, by his side. He was the son of the late Woodrow and Colleen Brown Boothe and was born at Man on November 22,1959. David dedicated more than 40 years of his life to a career as a professional truck driver. His work took him across the United States, and he loved bringing home souvenirs and thoughtful gifts for his family from his travels. When he wasn't on the road, David enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. After retirement, he found peace in his faith in the Lord and enjoyed relaxing while watching classic Westerns. Above all else, David treasured the time he spent with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Trish; his daughters, Colleen Frances (Franklin Smith) of Salem, Virginia; Kelli Lynn (Matthew Cundiff) of Rocky Mount, Virginia; and Michelle Teressa (Adam Anderson) of Dublin, Virginia. He is also survived by his stepchildren, whom he loved as his own, Amie (Phillip McNamara) of Summersville and Charles (Maelie) of Garland, North Carolina.

David also leaves behind several cherished grandchildren, one great-grandchild, his mother-in-law, Emily Buckner of Summersville, his sisters and half-siblings, including Mary Jo Boothe and Tudy Rose (Buck) all of Man, Glenda Boothe of Ballard along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Colleen Boothe; his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Ernie Williamson; his brothers, Woodrow, Jack, and Jerry Boothe.

David will be remembered as a hardworking man with a generous heart, a deep love for his family, and an unwavering dedication to those he cared about. His strength, kindness, sense of humor, and quiet faith touched the lives of many. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be received by the family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday July 6th at the Waters Funeral Chapel in Summersville with James Buckner officiating. Friends may call at the funeral chapel one hour prior to the service on Monday. His body will be cremated at the conclusion of services.
