Darrell Glenn
Ervine
Nov 10, 1934 — Feb 27, 2026
Darrell Glenn Ervine, age 91, of Summersville, West Virginia, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Friday February 27, 2026.
Born on November 10, 1934, in Bartow, West Virginia, Darrell was the son of the late Merlin E. Ervine and Alice G. Ervine. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Ervine, and his youngest son, Steven Dale "Stevie" Ervine.
Darrell worked for years at Halstead's Hardware before eventually retiring as a long-time and dedicated employee of Summersville Heating and Cooling. He was known for his strong work ethic, steady presence, and quiet dependability. Darrell proudly served his country as a United States Army veteran
A devoted father and grandfather, Darrell is survived by his son, Daniel Glen Ervine and wife Cathy of Mt. Lookout; his daughter, Debbie Groves and husband Gary of Canvas; and his cherished grandchildren: Amber (Gabe) McCutcheon of Simpsonville, South Carolina; Michael Ervine (Jennifer) of Urbana, Ohio; and Jereme Groves (Nikki) of Papillion, Nebraska. He was also blessed with 6 great-grandchildren.
Though quiet and calm in manner, Darrell possessed a sharp wit and thoughtful humor that those closest to him treasured. He was remarkably tech-savvy, always working on computers and effortlessly keeping up with the latest YouTube trends — something that brought both admiration and amusement to his family. Above all, he loved his family deeply. He was a God-fearing man whose steady faith guided his life.
The family will hold a private graveside service at West Virginia Memorial Gardens in Calvin . The Waters Funeral Chapel in Summersville is in charge of the arrangements.
Darrell's life was a testament to quiet strength, enduring love, and unwavering faith. While he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the faith he held dear.
