DANIEL STEVEN SUMMERS, 76 years of age of Charleston, formerly of Summersville, died Tuesday October 13,2026 at the Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston. He was the son of the late Donald and Lauretta Daniel Summers and was born at Beckley January 1,1950. Dan was a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He began his career at Waters Funeral Chapel in Summersville and later at Keyser-Bryant Mortuary in Beckley. He was also a registered nurse and worked many years at CAMC before retiring from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Charleston CBOC.

Dan was also preceded in death by his wife Jerri Bell Summers.

Several cousins, neighbors and lifelong friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday October 19th at the Waters Funeral Chapel in Summersville with Pastor Gene Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at the Walker Memorial Park in Summersville. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening.
