Burl A. Willis, Jr.

Burl A. Willis Jr., 79 of Summersville, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at his home. He was born on February 21 ^st , 1943 in Grayden, WV to the late Burl and Anna Joseph Willis of Mount Nebo

Burl was a truck driver at Smith Transfer for 19 years and later retired from the WVDOH. He loved bluegrass music, the local music festival and all the friends he made along the way, as Burl never met a stranger.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran

Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Linda Bailes Willis; 2 daughters, Kim (Mike) Yeager of Jacksonville, FL and Abigail (David) Bail of Canvas,  brother, Sim Willis and 3 sisters, Betty Shortridge, Margaret Thomas and Wanda Pierson; 4 granddaughters and 7 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 20 ^th , 2022 in the Waters Funeral Chapel at Summersville with Pastor Joe Shaffer officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral chapel from noon until service time on Monday.

In keeping with his wishes his body will be cremated at the conclusion of services.
