BOBBY  GENE  HOUGHTON,  86 years of age of Birch River, passed away Tuesday November 11,2025 at the Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston. He was the son of the late Earl and Ottie DeMoss Houghton and was born September 20,1939. Bob was 1959 graduate and football player at NCHS. He was a former coal miner, owner and operator of Bob's TV and Cable Inc. in Birch River. Bob was a member and bus driver of the Trinity Baptist Church.

He was also preceded in death by his wife Lena Gaye Houghton, son Bobby E. Houghton and siblings James Houghton, Nina Propst, Ina Mae Harris, Anna Lee Leach and Olive Bragg.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday November 18th in the Waters Funeral Chapel at Summersville with Pastor Ronnie Tinney officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery at Strange Creek. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening.
