Bob Painter, the Patriarch, 76 years of age of Mt Lookout went to be with his best friends, Jesus and Buster on Sunday February 16, 2024.He was the son of the late Lewis and Mable Painter and was born on October 6, 1948.

A man that never loved to cook, so much so that he burned down a mess hall in the Army in order to get out of that duty. After serving in the Army, he entered the world of underground coal mining, and that is where he found his passion and spent the biggest part of his life. Throughout his adult years he wrecked many many classic muscle cars, trucks, four wheelers, and shopping carts, somehow evading the police every time.

He also greatly enjoyed golfing below par (sureeee), and was a member of the Summersville Masonic Lodge. In his later retired years, he loved to take out his hearing aids, turn the TV to volume 100 and cheer those Hendrick Nascar Drivers.

Bob was born again in 2006, he loved God, his family and friends, and even in some of his roughest days preceding his death, you could hear him say "God is so good to me".

He was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanie Shelton and two brothers, Bill and Butch Painter.

Those left to cherish his memory,

Son: Bobby Painter (Misty) Mt. Lookout,

Daughter: Angi Knight Craigsville.

Grandchildren: Michael Grose, Tyler and Haley Knight, Brynn Painter and Seth aka Boogerman.

Great Grandchild: Avy Grose.

Two Sisters: Patty Sebert and Susie Meadows.

He was the best father, grandfather, great grandfather and he will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday February 21st in the Waters Funeral Chapel at Summersville with Pastor Matthew Bragg officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the Walker Memorial Park at Summersville. Friends may call at the funeral chapel one hour prior to the service on Friday.
